Q: HOW HAS YOUR UPBRINGING INFLUENCED YOUR ARCHITECTURAL STYLE?
A: My upbringing strongly influenced my architectural style because my mother was always interested in design and my Dad had a sabbatical in Finland where we drove through Europe and saw every church, cathedral, and museum.
Q: WHO INSPIRES YOU?
A: Michael Graves currently inspires me right now. When I was changing careers from a choreographer to architect, he honed my skills to be masterful in planning and have a great eye for color.
Q: WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE TO AN ASPIRING ARCHITECT?
A: My one piece of advice is to always wait to train someone to replace you so you can move up and bring someone along.
Q: WHERE IS THE MOST INSPIRING PLACE YOU HAVE TRAVELED?
A: The most inspiring place I traveled was Italy because of its roots of the Renaissance and architecture today. When in Florence during architecture school, my good friend was teaching and he did a tour where we saw mid evil, Renaissance, modernist designs.
Q: HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR ARCHITECTURAL STYLE?
A: My architectural style is examining one uses a space and how they feel is a driver for me. That comes from my background as a choreographer. I like having the ability to move from style to style but my personal preference is modern.
Q: WHILE THERE ISN’T A RECIPE FOR YOUR WORK, WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO YOU?
A: We believe a good life starts with good design. A thoughtful layout. Fluid circulation. Well-proportioned spaces. Abundant storage. Beautiful details. Wonderful views. And smart, solid construction.
Q: WHAT IS YOUR MOST FAVORITE PROJECT?
A: My favorite project is working on a Brooklyn duplex. We are gutting and doing the interiors and they are giving us the freedom to do whatever we want.

A: My dream project is designing a restaurant.

A: I’m best known for being a dancer.

A: My most prized possession is a sapphire and diamond ring I got from my Mom.

A: My best entertaining tip is do as much ahead of time.

A: My go-to cocktails are an Aperol Spritz, Vodka Tonic or a Spicy Margarita.
